We are a trusted partner for agricultural crop growers from the Žitný ostrov area. We supply farmers with seeds, fertilisers and crop protection products, as well as financing. We arrange post-harvest treatment, such as cleaning and drying, and we store and take care of the harvest to maintain its quality and condition. We buy commodities from farmers and then resell them. Our preferred commodities are barley, wheat, maize, rapeseed, sunflowers and peas. We have storage capacities in Tomášikovo, Jahodná and Gabčíkovo, we manage public warehouses, cleaners, and dryers, we have modern laboratories for the regular quality control of crops in storage, and we transport goods ourselves. Each year we buy, restock and market more than 80,000 tonnes of commodities, which we supply to domestic and foreign buyers and processors.

History

Agrosid was set up in 2005 by its three founders, each with many years of experience in the industry. Their vision was to form a company that would aim to build partnerships with primary producers and provide them with services in input financing, post-harvest processing, storage, purchasing and resale. In its early years, Agrosid did not have its own storage capacities, but instead rented facilities for its business. After humble beginnings, the network of partnerships quickly expanded, enabling Agrosid to gain a strong foothold in the region. Several years down the line, the company decided to invest in its own real estate and expand its storage capacity. It gradually refurbished and upgraded the facilities it had acquired, investing in their modernisation and increasing their capacities.

From the very outset, the value added that Agrosid offered to farmers was its high level of industry expertise. The owners’ experience extended beyond buying, storing and trading in commodities, and included primary production as well. They had a good understanding of the grower’s position, recognised both angles of the process, were able to provide sound advice, and negotiated agreements that worked for everyone’s benefit. The company’s business policy relies on long-term relationships based on trust, fairness and mutual respect. In 2023, Agrosid was absorbed into Sanagro Group and continues to do business in the same spirit.

Our values

We are a Sanagro Group company and share its values. We want to operate profitably but fairly, and not at the expense of those we do business with. We treat all growers with respect and dignity, regardless of their size, economic clout or other factors. It is important to us to maintain long-term and stable business relationships, which is only possible if the market recognises us as an honest, fair player. We look for joint solutions, sometimes even if this means incurring a short-term disadvantage or loss, if there is the prospect of a long-term win-win situation. We strive to be environmentally sensitive, adhere to all rules, and educate our partners on modern practices in soil care, plant care, and sustainability in agriculture.
